I found this mirror at an estate sale. It came with a small cabinet(which I will paint later). It was towards the end of their sale, so I offered them $20 for both pieces and they took it - sweet deal. I like to get pieces that have character, mainly because they are a lot easier to paint. You don't have to come up with a new design - you just use the different dimensions of the piece. Before I start a piece I always draw on paper what I want to do. I try different color combinations until I find something I like.

I know - looks like a little kid drew it. Haha!!! That's all it takes to see the color combinations though.
I forgot to take a picture of the 'before', so you will just have to take my word that it was dark brown. I put on the liquid sandpaper and a base coat. Then I put on about three coats of paint - some colors need more coats. I finished it off with a lacquer and lots of embellishments. It is kind of hard taking a picture of a mirror. I tried not to get myself in the mirror and then the flash kept reflecting in it. Oh well!!!

| The mirror is 3 1/2 feet tall and 1 foot wide. |

| I made the little red hearts out of Fimo clay and used black paint for the designs. |
