Glass fused star

This past summer I took a class on glass fusing.  I loved all the beautiful colors and the ideas are endless on what you can create: picture frames, bowls, plates, sun catchers, candle holders, etc.

Every year I make a gift for all of the ladies in my office.  I got some ideas online and decided to make a star ornament / sun catcher for them.  I cut out a rectangular piece of glass and then cut it in half diagonally.  I took five of these pieces and arranged them in the shape of a star.  I overlapped the inside edges so they could be fused together (you can take these projects to a local glass fusing shop to have them fused in their kiln).  I then took a piece of wire and wrapped the end of it around the tip of some needle nose pliers to create a swirl.  I strung some beads on the wire and wrapped it around the star.  This was a very fun project and I was able to make each one a little different.
