Christmas Angels

Mackenzie informed me that she wanted to collect Angels like I collect Snowmen.  Well,  it didn't take me long before I was searching Pinterest for ideas and looking for them at garage sales.  I have to say they are not as cute as snowmen and there are not as many to choose from.  I found this one at a garage sale.

I liked her face, but the outfit had to go.  I cut off her dress and used it as a pattern.  I found a bunch of fabric and lace scraps at MECCA.  MECCA stands for Materials Exchange Center for the Community Arts.  People donate their leftover materials and you can purchase them for a low price.  I like the creativity in upcycling - creating new things out of old.  It is so much fun!!!

After I finished, I felt she needed something else.  I took a leftover red heart made of clay from another project.  I painted it with some gold paint and glued it to her dress.
